Fulgent Air, LLC was founded by two aviation-loving brothers—both active pilots—alongside our supporting wives who share and fuel our passion for flight.

Our journey started out of simple necessity. As aircraft owners and builders, we grew tired of hunting through generic hardware stores for crucial engine components, or conversely, paying massive, unjustified OEM markups for simple replacement parts. We knew there had to be a better way to keep general aviation aircraft safely airworthy without the inflated price tags.

So, we built the solution ourselves.

FULGENT AIR LLC

Our Flight Mission

Our mission is simple: to eliminate the guesswork and fabrication headaches from your next annual inspection or engine overhaul. By mapping legacy and superseded factory numbers to our flawless, drop-in structural replacements, we help you and your A&P/IA save valuable maintenance time.

We are proud to serve the general aviation community with premium hardware, flat-rate US shipping, and the dedicated support of a family-owned team that knows exactly what it means to keep the blue side up.

Hangar-Tested. Rigidity-Proven.

We didn’t just source parts; we engineered them. We utilized advanced CNC wire-forming equipment to bring absolute consistency to engine baffle hardware. Every individual wire and high-tension spring we manufacture is built from premium ASTM A228 high-tensile music wire and treated with a specialized, corrosion-resistant zinc coating to handle intense engine bay heat and prevent critical baffle chafing.

Before any piece of hardware is packaged and shipped out of our hangar, it undergoes rigorous dead-weight and rigidity testing against original factory Cessna parts. If it doesn't meet our strict standards for flight safety and flawless installation, it doesn't leave our shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Fulgent Air wires and springs TSO'd or PMA'd?

At this time, our hardware is not TSO'd or PMA'd. We provide premium zinc-coated, loop-head music wire and matching high-tension springs specifically for aircraft owners to finish as Owner Produced Parts (under FAR 21.9) for their custom installations.

Can I legally use these components on my certified aircraft?

Yes, under the FAR 21.9 guidelines for owner-produced parts. Fabricating small baffling hardware traditionally requires a mechanic’s time (at typical $120+/hr bench rates) or risking generic hardware store components. Our precision-formed wires and springs allow you to easily fulfill owner-produced requirements in partnership with your A&P/IA.

How do your components compare to standard OEM hardware?

Rigorous mechanical testing shows our baffle wires meet or exceed original factory hardware specifications for bend retention, rigidity, flexibility, and shape-holding capacity under dead weight. Additionally, our specialized zinc plating provides a significant corrosion-resistance upgrade over standard bare OEM Cessna wires.

What specific materials are used in fabrication?

Both our heavy-duty wires and high-tension springs are manufactured from premium ASTM A228 high-tensile music wire. Every component is treated with a specialized industrial zinc protective coating to shield against intense engine heat and atmospheric moisture.

Do the wires come pre-bent with the retention hooks?

Our wires are shipped pre-formed with our precision CNC loop head on one end and are supplied in three convenient universal stock lengths (6", 12", and 20"). This allows you to trim the straight wire down to your exact engine dimensions and bend the final retention hook precisely where your airframe requires it using our template.

How often should baffle wires and springs be replaced?

We recommend evaluating your hardware during every annual inspection. While wires can be replaced during full baffling rebuilds or when worn, baffle springs should ideally be replaced every five (5) years. Swapping out aging or broken rear baffle springs is critical to keeping vibration down and preventing premature baffle chafing.

I don't see a kit configured for my specific airframe. Can you build a custom one?

Absolutely. We can put together a custom baffle wire and spring bundle tailored specifically to your aircraft configuration. Simply send us a message through our contact page with your aircraft's Year, Make, Model, along with your required wire lengths, wire quantities, and spring counts, and our team will build your kit.
